Wolfoo Maze Adventure is a maze game aimed at younger players, built around guiding Wolfoo and his friends from the entrance of a labyrinth through to its exit. Each maze begins hidden under fog, so the layout only reveals itself as you move through it. You cannot study a route from above before setting off, which turns every level into genuine exploration rather than a puzzle you solve at a glance. Coins and stars are scattered along the way, and collecting them almost always means taking a longer path than the direct run to the exit. That is the central tension of the game: a timer is running on every maze, so the more thorough you are about collecting, the less margin you leave yourself to actually find the way out. Obstacles stop the mazes becoming routine. Sliding gates open and close on their own schedule, so certain passages have to be timed rather than simply walked through. Ice sends you sliding until you hit something solid, which means committing to a direction and living with wherever it takes you. Teleporters drop you somewhere else in the maze entirely — sometimes helpfully, sometimes not. Coins are spent in a shop that unlocks extra characters and lantern skins, which gives younger players a reason to go back and replay earlier mazes for a better haul.
