Drop & Merge 2048 takes the number-merging idea behind 2048 and rebuilds it as a falling-block game. Numbered cubes descend one at a time across five lanes, and you decide which lane each one lands in. Drop a cube onto another of the same value and the two merge into the next number up — two 4s become an 8, two 8s become a 16, and onward from there. The interesting part is what happens immediately after a merge. The cube you just created can match whatever it now sits on, so a single well-placed drop can set off a chain that rolls several tiles deep and clears a large section of the board at once. Engineering those chains is really the whole game. Stacking your lanes so values ascend in a usable order takes patience, and it pays out far better than merging whatever happens to be convenient. The pressure comes from the top of the board. Cubes accumulate whenever you cannot merge them, and a few careless drops leave you with a row of mismatched values and nowhere to put the next one. There is a league system to climb and a persistent best score, so the incentive is to keep reaching for a higher number rather than simply surviving another turn. Controls are quick to pick up: the arrow keys or A and D move the falling block, S or the down arrow speeds up its descent, and space drops it instantly.
